Our fall class for ladies of all ages (college age, too) will begin on Tuesday, October 6, at 10:00 A.M. Our lessons will come from a book entitled, "Shine like Stars" by Sara Leighton. It is a study of the book of Philippians. A nursery will be provided for preschool children.

We will be hosting a FREE Clothing Giveaway day on Saturday, November 7, for the community. As you are putting away those summer clothes and getting out the winter, please gather up any season's unwanted (children's or adult's) clothes and bring them to the church building. Clean clothing will be accepted from Sunday, October 4 through Sunday, November 1. Place clothing in room A104 downstairs after banana boxes have been organized to sort. Banana boxes (or any large boxes in good condition) can be brought in after Labor Day. Volunteers will be needed the day of the drive, but are especially needed to handle sorting, organization and publicity. Please see Todd or Cassandra Palmer, or Audrey Brazzeal for more information.

The Alzheimer's Support Group that meets in our building on the first Tuesday of each month is going to participate in an Alzheimer's Memory Walk. We're on the MOVE for an end to Alzheimer's!

The Student Center is reserved (during the UCSC Fall Retreat to Tishomingo State Park) following the Clothing Giveaway, for a cultural cooking experience with the International Ladies Bible classes, where the International Ladies Bible class students will prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with International Ladies Bible class teachers. A meal will be served to students and their spouses by teachers and their spouses in the early evening.

Due to a scheduling mistake, the annual men's chili contest will now be held a week later on Friday, Nov. 13, at 6:00 P.M. in the UCSC. Please sign up in late-October to bring chili, chips, peppers (!) and more! See Darrell Easley for more information.

Teen F.A.S.T. stands for Fun And Spiritual Teaching! This month, it is at the Savages' home from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M.

Based on the ministry retreat, the elders have been discussing the organization of our ministries, and have several ideas on how to re-organize that we would like to discuss with you. Devotionals for our "TEENS" (7th - 12th grade) normally occur on the fourth Sunday of each month, right after the combined evening worship assembly (All Life Groups meet at the building each fourth Sunday night.).

This month, the Jinkerson family is hosting the TEEN Devo. Guys bring drinks, girls bring chips.

Special Congregational Monday Night Supper

The congregation is invited to a Free Thanksgiving MNS on November 23 at 6:30 pm in the UCSC. Turkey, Dressing, Cranberry Sauce, Sweet Potato Casserole and English Peas will be provided. A sign-up sheet is posted in the foyer for volunteering to bring salads, desserts, and rolls. Make plans to participate in this fun and uplifting fellowship event.
